On Saturday, December 16, WPFC hosted the 2nd College ID Camp for high school aged  players. Attendees from WPFC and  from our partner RCL clubs had 2-one hour training sessions with a coach in the morning and then  were coached  in games to end the day.  During our lunch period, players were prepped for a  “College Q & A” and then visited coaches for a “lightning round” of questions and answers about collegiate life and college soccer.

We had 12 programs represented from around the Northwest. Women’s coaches on staff were: Michael Farrand, Central Washington Univ; Grant Landy, Concordia Univ-Portland; Arby Busey,Seattle Pacific Univ; Luke Babson,Western Oregon Univ; Joseph Varl, Univ of Puget Sound; Dave Morris, The Evergreen State Coll & Jill Green Tacoma CC   Men’s coaches on staff were:  Josimar Evangelista, Northwest University; Brandon Scott, Saint Martin’s University; John Purtteman, The Evergreen State College; Steve Mohn Highline College  & Joseph Ademofe, Shoreline CC.

As a follow up to the ID camp, attendees are encouraged to be in touch with a coach they liked or a school they are interested in so that “the next step’ in the recruit process can take place.  For some that will simply be correspondence, for others that may be a visit to campus and a meeting with staff.  The key point is to “take the next step.”
