Next Level Training

Next Level Training Program

As part of our Next Level Training Program, we will be launching a series of new Development Programs at Washington Premier Soccer Club. At Washington Premier, it is the club’s goal to provide Washington Premier players with the environment, the coaching and the support they need to become a competent player who has the skills to enjoy the game. We want to provide every player with the opportunity to work on all aspects of their game as an individual which they may not always receive in their team training which tend to focus more on tactics.

The next level training programs are for Washington Premier Players only and are designed to develop the complete player. The nature of the extra individual training programs is to place each player in groups with a high level of training with greater intensity and focus. The expectation is that we only want the serious player to participate in these programs that have a personal goal of improving their game and to compete and play at the highest level.

Circuit training and how it works:

The circuit training method to improve a player’s overall game is a unique way for the coach to achieve a number of objectives simultaneously. Circuit training also gives the coach a chance to enliven the training routine. A circuit consists of a number of stations at which different exercises are to be performed. It is important for the players to perform to the best of their abilities at each station, so jog between stations to lower the breathing and pulse rates, yet stay on the move. A thorough warm-up will always precede the exercises. Coaches explain to the players how to execute the exercises at each station before beginning.

Your child will not be bored when they do the circuit training, the players will move through the stations to work different aspects of their game with little to no rest between stations. Each station has a different topic and each player will spend time in a different designated area spending time elevating their game.  https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/washingtonpremierfc

Area each station will target:

Each station will work on a different technical area of the game.

  • Goal Scoring and Finishing – Covering the various techniques and thoughts needed to be a clinical goal scorer. The main focus is to improve the player’s ball striking and overall skill to create and finish goal-scoring opportunities. This will be achieved through repetitions of game-like situations in the attacking 3rd.
  • Ball Mastery and Foot Skills – Foot skills and Ball Mastery are the building blocks for the game of soccer. The fastest way to elevate a player’s game is for them to work on and improve these areas of their game. We will focus on the players performing the technique properly, then, as the players master these skills and improve their technique, we will work on performing the skill at the speed.
  • 1v1’s, 2v2’s – Providing the soccer skills to be effective players. Ball control is the key to that. It’s about being comfortable on the ball, instant control, able to change feet, and move the ball where you want. Players will learn how to beat players off the dribble and to combine to score goals.
  • Injury Prevention Strengthening/Fast Footwork – Athletes wanting to have better preparation before practices and games. The players will become faster, more coordinated, gain more balance, and be a more complete athlete! The key is to ensure more training hours and less injuries.
