'96 ECNL brings WPFC 4th Nat'l Title

2011 US Club National X Cup Super Group Champions

Temperatures were not the only thing hot in Boise as the girls 96 ECNL team wrapped up the summer tournament schedule with a victory at the US Club National Cup held in Boise, Idaho, clinching the Super Group Title. Coach Seth Spidahl and the 96 ECNL squad had a great run at the National event defeating Bay Oaks SC Botafogo and Sonoma County Alliance, two very strong California teams in pool play. Those wins, guaranteed the team a spot in the finals where they faced the NSA Premier Jaguars, the reigning Illinois State Champions.   Having lost to the Jaguars 2-1 in preliminary play, the Premier girls took to the field and played a solid game, limiting the Jaguars to one goal off a set piece, while finding the back of the net twice. Check out the last day of action at the National Championships Championship Day Highlights. This is the first US Club National Title won by a Washington Premier Team.
