Congratulations to our girls U-16 White team, the new WYS Challenge Cup champions. We received this report from a sideline reporter:  the team played Marauders 91 White on Saturday in the Cup semifinal.  After finally tying up the game 2-2,  the game went into overtime.  The girls came out playing hard in overtime, and in the second extra session, WPFC scored what proved to be the winning goal.  The last seven minutes of the game surely was a nailbiter, but the girls held on to win 3-2 and make it to the final on Sunday.

Sunday’s Cup final was played against Blackhills F.C. 91.  The girls played their hearts out and went up 2-0.  Blackhills fought back and scored a goal, but couldn’t find a way behind the stingy WPFC defense to get a tying goal.  WPFC scored one more goal to buttton up their victory at 3-1.  The Cup final was a fitting end to a wonderful season for the girls. We are very proud of you, but most importantly, be proud of what you made happen!
