Washington Premier F.C. is passionate about serving our community. This past year, WPFC undertook 3 club-wide community service projects, which included a book drive sponsored by PageAhead, gear collection through Soccer Without Borders, a Coat & Blanket Drive. In addtion, some of our teams conducted their own projects.
Among our charitable activities, Washington Premier F.C. awards more than $25,000 each year in financial aid to its members. The Club has continued its focus on leadership and community involvement with projects like the Boys and Girls Club free soccer clinics and food baskets for the hungry in Pierce County. We will continue to focus our efforts not only on excellent play, but excellent sportsmanship, scholarship and citizenship.
We proudly partnered with PageAhead and conducted a Book Drive in 2007. Page Ahead has placed over 1.25 million new books into the hands of 450,000 at-risk children.
In 2007, we collected new and used gear, and donated the items to Soccer Without Borders, whose mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change in the lives of marginalized young people.
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Each year, WPFC continues its focus on leadership and community involvement with projects like sponsoring free soccer clinics for the Boys and Girls Club of Pierce County. We believe programs like our annual coat and blanket drive set Washington Premier apart from other clubs, and we will continue to focus our efforts on community support and charitable programs.
