93 Black Superb in Surrey

The team was in action Dec. 29th through 31st in Surrey BC against the best squads BC had to offer in the Pacific Northwest Soccer Championship. In the first game the boys showed the effects of a 3+ hour car ride and trailed 2-0 to Whitecap Select 94 at half. In the second half, the boys showed what they were capable of and managed to gain a tie. The next game was against Vancouver United. In a dominating performance, the boys gained 3 points with a 3-0 win. Their last round robin game was against a new and improved version of the Metro Ford squad the boys had met at the PCC. Needing just a tie to advance to the medal round, the squad used two second half goals to win 2-0.

In the semifinal, the team came up against an overmatched Whitecap 95 Select squad. After leading only 1-0 at the half despite numerous chances, the boys ended up winning by a score of 4-0. The gold medal game featured a rematch of their opening game against Whitecap 94 Select. Again down at the half, this time 1-0, the boys rallied for two second half goals and claimed the gold medal. Well done, boys, and good luck in the state cup!
